QUEEN MOTHER - A Short Film by Amen Igbinoson
The story of Queen Mother explores that of Enakhena. Enakhena is a university student who found herself interning at a prestigious art gallery. Their newest exhibit is a collection of artifacts taken during the Benin invasion of 1897. The culture of the Edo people still lives on till this day in West Africa but artifacts taken during this looting have never been returned. Enakhena found herself connecting with one particular artifact, the Queen Mother Mask. When Enakhena touches the mask the spirit of Queen Mother awakens and calls upon her to return what was stolen to Benin.
